Getting Involved Early In Law School is Key To Success
In today's episode I spoke with Cooley Law student Randy Petrowski, president of the Cooley Student Bar Association, Lansing Campus. He represents all students and advocates creating an open and inviting environment for all students.
In my conversation with him he stressed the importance of getting involved early in law school.
His journey into law school started in law school. He did a lot of research and found that he had a passion for the study of the law. He wanted to make a social change in the country and it seemed like a natural choice to do this.
As he has gone through his law school experience he has found that it is was important to find a law school that had small classes and that had professors that were approachable and he has come to find that Cooley was the perfect fit.
For those of you that are just getting ready to start law school he said that he would encourage everyone to not get as stressed as you enter. Take it one day at a time.
Being involved in law school has allowed him to be more open and much happier because he loves what he is doing and the people that he is getting to interact with on a daily basis.
Randy Petrowski mentions that by being involved you will have the opportunity to learn so much more about law school, but also build your networking too. If you do not get involved you will not be able to build the social connections you need to be successful.
In the end, Randy Petrowski says that you have to embrace law school and enjoy it as it is an experience that not everyone has the opportunity to take part but it is one that will change you for the better!
