Happy 2020! The Alumni Outreach Committee is growing and expanding our role and efforts with the law school. We have added new members to the Outreach Committee and they have agreed to help with the February 2020 administration of the Alumni Mentoring Program. WMU-Cooley graduate De-Andreth Isaacs-Hanson

De-Andreth Isaacs-Hanson didn't know where to turn when her daughter was diagnosed with biliary atresia. But she certainly wasn't willing to accept a dismal prognosis or put her daughter in hospice. She visited 152 hospitals before finding one that would agree to provide the liver transplant surgery her daughter needed. Today, De-Andreth is succeeding as a WMU-Cooley Law student while also finding ways to support others with biliary atresia.

In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the law school’s Equal Access to Justice Day, WMU-Cooley’s campuses hosted MLK Day of Service activities and speaking events in January. Students and faculty devoted the day to reflect and attend programs on the role of lawyers in assuring equal access to justice.
