Attending A Law Forum: Tips & Resources For Success

In today's Episode we speak to Ms. Julia Duhan, Associate Director for Admissions at Cooley Law School about how to plan for and get the most out of attending an LSAC Law Forum

Julia shared a ton of great tips for what future law students should do and consider as they prepare for the Law Forum that they plan to attend.Julia-Duhan_250

Julia mentioned that there were three main things to take away from our conversation in regards to interacting with law school professionals at law forums. She called these the 3 P's. She encouraged everyone to always be:

  1. Patient
  2. Professional
  3. Polite

Julia also shared a great resource on the Law School Admission Council website for anyone planning to attend a law forum as well, so be sure to check this out, as it contains valuable tips beyond what we shared in today's episode.

So remember, as you prepare for your law forum visit:

  1. Prepare your list of schools and your questions for the representatives
  2. Dress neatly, but comfortably
  3. Be patient and polite, and don't monopolize the table.
  4. Pack an extra bag or backpack for materials.

Finally, Julia mentioned that anyone having further questions should contact her at duhanj@cooley.edu

It is clear from our interview that attending these forums takes preparation and it is my hope that through listening in today, you will gather some great strategies to prepare you for these events.
