Today in the Law School Insider we explore the experience that one Cooley Law School student, Jennifer Gallardo had on study abroad this past summer.

Jennifer shares all of the positive experiences that she had with you as well as tips and hints to help you to make the most of a study abroad experience.

One of the things that really struck me when it came to looking at the experience that Jennifer had was how it opened her world view to the law in general, As she stated, too often we look at things only from a US-centric lens, and having this experience allows you to broaden this and better understand how what you are learning fits into the broader context of the world.

Whether you have studied overseas before or not, Jennifer mentioned that one of the the factors that really was the tipping point for her was that she knew this would be one of the last times for a while that she would have to be able to go and spend some time in Europe. Once you graduate , studying for the bar, completing your job search and other life events intervene causing travel to be more difficult, so taking this opportunity in law school may be a great way to experience the world and learn at the same time!
