HONoring FOUNDER'S LEGACY

Although we still mourn the recent passing of our founder Hon. Thomas E. Brennan, we will always treasure and honor him for his vision and all he has done for the generations of WMU-Cooley graduates worldwide, over 20,000 strong. We owe him a debt of gratitude. This is a time of reflection, transition and re-dedication for WMU-Cooley Law School. We reflect upon the memory of our founder, Thomas E. Brennan. We transition from the long stewardship of retired President Don LeDuc, who steadfastly served the law school for over 43 years. And we re-dedicate ourselves to the school's founding principles.

WMU-Cooley Innocence Project

There is no greater reward than to help someone wrongfully convicted be set free, and for being recognized for the hard work in making this happen. This past month, the WMU-Cooley Innocence Project received two grants totaling over $700,000!

New interim dean

Amy Timmer

The law school has appointed Amy Timmer to be interim dean effective October 22, 2018. The appointment was announced to faculty and staff by WMU-Cooley’s Interim President Jeffrey Martlew, who assumed office September 1, 2018.

Nigerian attorney and WMU-Cooley grad wins clerkship

It wasn't that long ago that Ogenna Iweajunwa, a Nigerian attorney, came to the United States on a quest to practice law in the United States. Not only did she excel in law school, she won a clerkship for Justice Richard Bernstein at the Michigan Supreme Court. Look for her full story in the December 2018 Benchmark Magazine.
